1 Corinthians 11:23-26

September 11, 2016

Introduction: Today marks the 15th anniversary of the tragic events which transformed many of our lives.  This morning we are taking a few moments to remember the events of that day and to express our gratitude for those who serve and protect us.  Jesus gave us a way to remember His ultimate sacrifice upon the cross through the communion service.


I. A day to remember.

A. They became our heroes.

B. He became our Savior.  1 Corinthians 11:23-26


II. A meal to remember.

III. A way to remember.

A. Let’s take time to ______________.  Exodus 12:25-27

Conclusion: America was forever changed by the events of September 11th, 2001.  As Christians, we understand that the world was forever altered by what transpired on a Roman cross some two thousand years ago.  Jesus became more than a hero, He became our Savior.  Today, we say thanks to those who serve and protect us.  The Lord’s Supper is a constant reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross.  May we never forget that sacrifice!
